Little Adam’s peak

This is a part of one of well known upcountry village called ella.Little adam’s peak gives a great hiking experience to its climbers. Little Adam’s Peak attracts many travelers who come; and it named Punchi Siri Paadha in Sinhala. It is 1141 m in height. The walk may be long, but once one reaches the top, it is just worth the struggle. The sunsets are not to be missed. The blazing and crimson sunsets are a treat to watch.

A striking natural landmark in Sri Lanka which cannot be missed, is the Adam’s Peak known as Sri Pada meaning ‘the sacred foot print of Lord buddah’.It is 2244m in height and is located 40km northeast of Ratnapura district of Sri Lanka.. Sri Pada for Sri Lankans and some people called it the mountain of butterflies as there are a huge amount of them on the top (Sinhala) hill of the butterflies. The region along the mountain is also a wildlife reserve, housing many species varying from elephants to leopards, and including many endemic species. There is no railway or Air service to the mountain but the highway of Hatton city where you might find a railway line to to reach your destination.

The Academy Award-winning movie The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala, although nothing remains now except the concrete foundations for the bridge Kitulgala is the base for white-water rafting in Sri Lanka. Wild and harmless fishes swim about the lake; all in all it provides a natural get-away for people finding peace.

Nuwara eliya

Nuwara Eliya is an enchanting destination to visit in the hill country, Sri Lanka. Being surrounded with waterfalls and tea plantations the city has enough attractions to easily fill a couple of days. In the winter months there can be frost at night, but it warms up rapidly during the day because of the high sun angle.
